The Trip 2009 - Sweden 5

Monday 6th July.

Another nice morning. We have been invited to visit Mia and Ulf at their summer house on an island in the archipelago for a few days so we were up early, finished packing and ready for David picked us up at 0930.

We stopped on the way to do some shopping.

This is Jim and Davids idea of shopping! Playing video games.

We drove NE via Taby, Akersberga before turning off to the ferry just short of Roslags-Kulla. These ferries are identical to the ones we saw in and around Seattle WA.

About 15 minutes after leaving the ferry we arrived at a small village and a jetty to meet up with Mia and Ulf. Its great to see them again.

Here we are getting fitted out with our safety vests for the crossing to the island of Alon.
Notice some of the very important provisions in the foreground.

Our first view of the summer house which is set back amongst the trees with the sauna near the water and jetty.

All the buildings are painted in Falun Red.

The house is spacious and very comfortable.

Even the tortoise comes for his holidays.

How about this for a back yard!! What more could you ask for.

We can sit on the deck and watch the big ferries and cruise ships pass by on their way in and out of Stockholm.

The island has approximately twelve houses on it. The island is very quiet, beautiful, peaceful and relaxing.
