The Trip 2009 - Sweden 10

Saturday 11th July.

The day started out overcast but it looks like it will improve.

Today Elin and Jim are off to a wedding. As they were busy getting ready we ventured into the city. This was our first trip into the city on our own. We bought new strips of tickets, caught the right train and 8 minutes later we were at Central. Amazing! I am still very impressed by all forms of transport here, they are efficient, clean and always on time.

The day brightened up but it was still a bit cool for us.

We just spent our day wandering in the city, enjoying the atmosphere and window shopping.

This is the market outside the concert hall and cinema complex. There are lots of lovely fresh fruit, in particular strawberries, on sale.

A most unexpected sight and sound on Drottninggatan, a Didgeridoo player.

Walking up towards the Observatory, with a refreshment stop on the way, ......

The Observatory.

......and back down again. I felt like the "Grand Old Duke of York".

We had a late lunch at one of my favourite bars, Pickwicks, before visiting NK, Gallerian and H&M for more window shopping.

We got back to Sundbyberg about 1800 and called in to ICA. We had a light tea, which featured strawberries etc, read a little and we were in bed relatively early.
