The Trip 2009 - Sweden 18

Sunday 19th July.

Woke up to a warm and sunny morning. After breakfast we walked in to the city again.

The Town Hall in partial sunshine. We have been seeing this building quite a lot recently as it was featured in Danish TV crime series that lasted for 18 episodes, called 'The Killing'. A excellent production.

Yet another different type of bike.

We had intended taking a Boat Cruise and a Bus Tour of the city but left it too late so only managed the boat tour.

Nyhavn.

New Harbour.

Waterside apartments with off street parking!

The old.......

.....and the new.

Unfortunately this was the best photo of the Little Mermaid I have as every one else was crowding around it preventing a clear shot.

The Copenhagen Opera House.

A water Taxi.

Heading back to the city via Christianshavns Kanal.

The spire of Vor Freisers Kirke with an external staircase. I wish I could have had time to climb it.

A building alongside the water called the 'Black Diamond' which is a government building.

These bridges are really low and narrow.

The end of the tour back at Gammel Strand.

Loads of bikes every where!

Street entertainment in Amagertorv.

Yet another type of bike.

The Copenhagen Store.

A lovely cafe inside the Copenhagen Store.

A street entertainer walking quickly while standing still.

We had a great day and met some nice people. We had a beer in an Irish bar and met a Kiwi musician who referred to Australia as the western most state of New Zealand!

We were standing listening to a very good brass band that was busking when the owner of the cafe that they were playing outside of, came out and complained about the noise. He didn't stay long as he got short shift from the crowd who booed and hissed him.
