The Trip 2009 - Sweden 16

Friday 17th July.

It was a nice sunny morning when we went down for an early breakfast. We paid the hotel bill and put the luggage in storage so we could have a last quick look around the shops.

We boarded our train at 1130 for the trip down the coast to Malmo and then across into Denmark. We traveled on a very fast express train again, in the lap of luxury. The train crosses one of the nicest looking bridges in the world, the Oresund, between the two countries but unfortunately we didn't see it as the rail line is suspended below the road surface. The train was doing 187 kph up the incline of the bridge, fantastic! We arrived in Copenhagen exactly on time, you really can set your watch by the train service.

The wonderful wooden roof of the main concourse in the train station.

The exterior of the station.

We found the hotel quite easily as it was just a very short walk around the corner from the station. The hotel is nice but not quite as good as the one in Gothenberg. After booking in we had a walk in towards the city centre to get our bearings.

The famous Tivoli Gardens. All these years I had actually thought they were gardens so imagine my surprise when I found out it was a funfair.

The main entrance, early evening.

These doors were on a bank near the hotel. I think its self explanatory, green for adults and orange for kids.

After a light dinner at Copenhagen Corner opposite the Town Hall, we walked back down Vesterbrogade and saw the one and only Clubbie of our trip, a red and alloy Birkin.
