The last few days have been rather cool with the temperature in the high teens and not managing to reach 20C.
On a very overcast, windy and dismal looking day, Di decided that a nice warming soup would be the best thing for us.
I am the chief cutting up expert as I have strong wrists and the best knives. What I don't like is when it comes to cutting up the onions. The onions we are using at the moment have a high juice content and as soon as the skin is broken the fumes make the eyes start to water.
Di had this wonderful idea of wearing some goggles to stop the fumes getting in my eyes, the only problem was that the only goggles that we could find quickly were these swimming goggles that grandson number three, Johan, left behind.
They were a little small and I couldn't see through them very well so eventually I found some skiing goggles in the shed, which must have been Jim's.
I know I look like an idiot, no comments please, but they really did work.
By the way, the soup was great.
