Day 52

Saturday 25th January 2014

As it looked like it was going to be a bit cooler we decided to head up into the mountains.  Our first stop was in Leura where we spotted one of Johan's favorite cartoon characters, Pingu, outside one of the many galleries.

Some serious shopping underway.

We had a very nice lunch, Henry seemed to enjoy himself.

So did Johan when it came time for dessert.

This is a very nice looking place that we have been meaning to try for some time.  Maybe next time.

On the way home we called in to Wentworth Falls to get bread and pastries from one of our regular stops. Not as good as the patisserie in Leksand.

We drove up to the Lake where we found some radio controlled model boats.

But Johan was more interested in the play area.

This could only happen in Australia! A man taking his parrot for a walk while perched on his hat.

Day 51

Friday 24th January 2014

Yesterday, Thursday the 23rd of January, was a very special day for the Roberts household.

Fifty years ago Di and myself got married. The weather was a bit different this time.

Early in the morning we had a knock on the door and the delivery of flowers from the family and some from me to Di.

There are mainly Australian native flowers in this arrangement.

Both flower arrangements were obviously based on yellows and golds.

After a lazy morning and lunch out, we drove to Becky's to pick up Alex and headed to Castle Towers to see an exhibition of Dinosaurs.

All the exhibits were animated which made some of our youngsters a little apprehensive.

This is a characters that Johan recognised from his visit to the movies with his Poppa.

Back at Becky's we had an intimate family dinner but as usual not all the available cameras managed to capture the moments.

A lovely meal with the customary Champagne.

Johan and Ben with their favourite food, lots of green jelly.

Then out came the cake. What a beauty!

A great time was had by all.

Here's to the next fifty!!!

Day 47

Monday 20th January 2014

I'm falling behind once again.  Its always so busy here and my camera isn't always handy for those special moments.

I have had  a request from Mormor for more photos of Henry so here are some especially for her. (Nobody else is to look.) They have been taken over the last few days.

That's me somewhere under a climbing marvel.  We think he could become a mountaineer but definitely an engineer.

He is never still and loves to pull himself up on anything that is available. The handles on the kitchen drawers  are a favourite as are the handrails of the dinning room. Some of the chairs are a little too high for him but he will do pull ups on the cross rails.

When his father was a little older, Jim used to crawl down the hall and into the dinning room where he would roll under the bottom rail and drop over a metre to the lounge room floor below.  From there he would appear alongside our bed with a big grin on his face.

Day 39

Sunday 12th January 2014

Another lazy Sunday morning.

I raked up a pile of leaves and mowed some of the grass to make it a little tidier for when our mid-morning visitors arrive. Bonnie and Jumbo are coming to meet Henry!

Henry having a dry paddle.

I got the hammock out for Johan but soon everyone was involved. Those are Johan's knees with the plasters on.

Just the right spot to spend a lazy Sunday morning.

Day 37

Friday 10th January 2014

A few more photos of events in this crazy household.

Jim is supposed to be watching Henry in the bath but by the looks of it, Henry will be climbing out very soon.

Henry does love his bath and the Ikea high chair makes it so much easier.  His crawling has improved so much that some times we don't know where he's got to, he moves so quickly.
