It rained during the night but it turned into a nice morning.
We spent quite some time trying to sort out Jim's computer area, or at least to get some decision of what he wanted. He couldn't decide so we gave up and went to the park for a little picnic and to meet up with Darvid.
The wind got up and it turned a little cold so a tent was made.

Holiday 2012 - Day 65
It rained heavily overnight.
Today we are returning to Annedal but we couldn't leave without a last look at the town and a chance for fika with P-G and CC. We bought fresh strawberries from a market stall before stopping at Siljan Konditori.
Konditori/ Confectionery/ Coffee and cake shop.
They make the most marvelous pastries.
Like father, like son.
On the return journey we are heading back to Hofors via a huge clothing retail outlet. This big complex appeared to be in the middle of nowhere but was busy and had good products.
We aren't used to seeing road warning signs for Moose!
Calling back at Hofors to find Ulf still painting!! He said he was just waiting for fika.
This is a lovely old property and grounds. Johan had a good run around and burnt off a lot of excess energy.
We arrived back at the apartment at about 19.00 but Jim and I had to pop out to do a bit of necessary grocery shopping.
Another great day

Holiday 2012 - Day 64
Another nice sunny morning but a bit of a breeze blowing. We drove around the district looking at Loppis, which are junk or flea markets. It seems to be a Swedish national pastime. Found some terrific bits and pieces, especially old tools which were too heavy to consider bringing back.

On our trip we passed my favourite crisp bread manufacturer. Unfortunately Ikea in Australia are no longer selling them so we have had to find another source. I just cant understand why Ikea are now stocking crisp bread made in Finland.
We had a lunch break back in Leksand and then out foraging again.
These caught my eye, maybe for later projects. They are silhouettes of cockerels and chickens cut from metal and allowed to rust.
Spotted near one of the shops we visited.
Elin found this nice little armchair which she bought. It was a bit of a squash to get it in the car but it was only for a short distance and P-G will bring it down to Annedal on his next visit.
CC arrived with her two boys, Anton and Axel, and by general consensus we had Pizza for dinner.

Holiday 2012 - Day 63
Woken by a nice sunny morning. Looked through the front windows and saw that there were a few market stalls being set up in the mall outside. Must investigate later.
After breakfast I walked with Jim and Johan to a local little childrens play ground.

We were later joined by Elin, Di and P-G. Looks like all the kids together. Back in town we had a look around the market but all we bought were wooden butter knives.
While Johan had a morning sleep I went for a walk. This is the remains of the mid summer celebrations outside P-G's apartment.
Down at the wharf to see the Gustaf Wasa which we are going on this evening.
I walked down the river towards the lake and found a lovely old village museum and the local Leksand Kyrka. A beautiful building.
I've noticed this before, the bell tower is separate from the church building.
Church and separate bell tower.
It not often that we see a sign in Australia banning skiers.
Following Johans sleep, P-G took us in his boat across the lake to a beach near where he used to live at Vastanvik.
The little harbour at Vastanvik on the opposite side of Lake Siljan.
Unfortunately the sun went in but Johan still went in the water and didn't appear to feel the cold.
Back in Leksand and we are all boarding for a dinner cruise on Lake Siljan, up as far as Rattvik.
Let me in, I'm getting hungry!
Wow! They saved some chips for me .
Its a lovely old vessel. We are on the top deck and had a great trip with very nice food.
The lake was amazingly sunny and calm.
The perfect end to a lovely day was to watch Euro 2012 soccer and to see Italy win against Germany 2-0.

Holiday 2012 - Day 62
An overcast morning and a slow relaxed start to the day.
Beautiful flowers in the garden.
Johan getting a ride in an old tin tub.
Johan wants Mormor to have a go. Its a good job that Ulf is strong.
We packed and after fika left Hofors about midday and headed for Leksand.
The weather improved to be nice and sunny.
On the drive North it seemed that either side of the road was covered with Lupines.
We arrived in Leksand just after 14.00 and met P-G at his new apartment in town, overlooking the bridge and water.
We unloaded the car and had a walk down to the waterfront.
Part of the wharf area. There have been lots of improvements and expansion since we were last here.
A walk back through town to meet CC at the apartment. CC cooked us lovely trout for dinner and then we settled down to watch the Euro 2012 Spain - Portugal soccer match.
