Holiday 2012 - Day 50

The Skipper and his Bosun.

It was a lovely sunny morning so after breakfast I decided to give the grass around the house a bit of a trim. Unfortunately I couldn't find any fuel for the mower so had to make do with an electric one. It did the job perfectly well and at least it was silent.

After this bit of exercise I set out for a walk up to the highest point on the island and then on to the ferry wharf.  This ferry is a direct link back to Stockholm and I think it would be nice to make the trip sometime, just for the experience and the scenery

Its quiet a walk to the top but well worth the effort. Walking through trees and beautiful lichen covered rocks .

Nearing the top and the shipping marker.

Looking to the Southwest, in the general direction of Stockholm.

Carrying on around the island.

Some of the houses grouped at the NE end of the island.

 The notice board.

A lovely patch of meadow flowers and grasses.

This is the path up to the ferry wharf.

The ferry shelter above the steps down to water level.

The nicely appointed shelter with cushions and wine on the shelf.

After lunch we all went for a walk with Johan in the cart.

Jim having a rest. Its  rather an unfortunate photograph but I just couldn't resist it.

The rest must have done him good.

Watched soccer Euro 2012 on TV to see England beat Sweden 3-2.
