Sewage! and other things.

I bet that title caught your attention.

I just thought I would put up a few other photos just so you don't think we are asleep down here.  Actually we have been quite busy, mainly in the garden cutting down and back ready for the new growth in the spring.

A very delicate flower on a tree that we aren't sure of the name for. The leaves and the branches are prickly and can catch one unawares.

The sun shinning on Maple autumn foliage.

These are the autumn colours on the Persimmon tree.

We built the house approximately 39 years ago and everything  has worked well but lately we have been having problems with the sewage system. Not so much the system but the joints within the terracotta system and the problem with tree roots.  To prevent any problems in the future we have had the complete system replaced with PVC. Not an easy job as you can imagine. Luckily I have always kept up to date drawings of the house so I was able to pinpoint all the sewage junctions points and open the ground for the plumber.  I didn't do much more as his shovel is bigger than mine!

At the connection into the main, the excavation was quite deep.  Any way, its all finished now and we have just to get the garden back into some semblance of order.

We recently had a very nice and unexpected surprise present from Becky. Its a very big enlargement of a photo taken on the beach when Elin, Jim and Johan were holidaying out here in 2011.

It compliments the one of a young Alex on the opposite wall.
