Holiday 2012 - Day 38

It rained all night and was still doing so when we got up.

We had a nice breakfast, once again courtesy of Glynn, and got on with some washing and drying.

Jane, Glynn and young John weren't interested in watching any of the Queens Jubilee Celebrations on the Thames and went to the cinema in Birmingham.  We thought we would be watching the celebrations on TV by ourselves but we had a message from Louise inviting us to join them for afternoon tea and to watch the celebrations.

Could there be a better way to celebrate?  Nice sandwiches, scones etc all washed down with a Pimms.

All while sitting in front of a lovely warm fire.

This is how was saw part of the flotilla on TV, going down the Thames.

There were lots of celebrations all along the embankment despite the rain that started to fall mid afternoon. Everyone appeared to be having a great time. It was a great time for England and a big morale booster with the Olympics yet to come.

In the evening we went out to dinner at the Crown and Sandys, just down the road in Ombersley.  It was still raining heavily so Luoise and Andrew invited us to stay the night. This was a great idea as tomorrow we are going to Evesham to meet Richard and family, and by staying over night we will be halfway there.
