Holiday 2012 - Day 39

A very nice leisurely breakfast with Louise and Andrew before heading to Evesham and our meeting with Richard, Beth and Grace who are driving up from Great Missenden.

Evesham, between Pershore and Broadway, is a very black and white old market town.

Its hard to see, but if you look at the left hand side of this building there is an additional timber prop under the drooping second floor corner.

A closer look.

At the dessert stage of our lunch with Richard, Beth and Grace.  Still a lot of catching up going on.

A group shot for the album.

Evesham Parish Church, St.Lawrence's.

The Almonry at Abbey Gate. This 14th Century building was once home to the Almoner of the Benedictine Abbey that was founded at Evesham in the 8th Century.

 The Almonry and floral clock.

A lions head form of Green Man from the Abbey ruins which was discovered in 1931.

This is the very impressive bell tower of the Abbey.  The other surviving parts of the Abbey are one section of wall and part of the Chapter House, all thanks to Henry VIII.

After a good day out, back to Clive and down to the Railway Inn with Jane, Glynn and Little John who is home from Uni.
