Travelling 2016 - Day 6

June 4th 2016

A funny sort of morning, weather wise, cool and misty which could mean rain later.
We had a late breakfast and with Jane, Glynn, Emma and John, then drove into Birmingham to meet up with Ray.

We are meeting for coffee at the top of Hotel Indigo which is next to the Mailbox.

Looking along the canal towards Gas Street Basin.

Looking over the city from the top of Hotel Indigo.

John enjoying the wet view over the city.

Looking down the atrium.

Walking along the canal towards the Gas Street Basin.

Walking through the foyer of the Symphony Hall.

The facade of the New Library.

The outside is not to everyone's taste but its very nice inside.

Part of the beautiful old library rebuilt inside the new one.

This is the old library building, which for some unknown reason is being demolished from the centre outwards.

Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

The new city tram system.

 Part of The Bullring Centre.

Polished and reflective stainless steel exterior cladding.

The city is full of great new modern architecture but the old buildings are still on show.
After a full day in the city with lots of walking we returned to Clive for a nice Fish and Chip supper.
