Monday 20th June
Today we are leaving Llandridrod Wells and driving to Montgomery, not a long way but we will be travelling very leisurely through more lovely countryside.
We were on a similar width of road, reaching the brow of a hill,when we were faced by two huge timber carrying trucks with trailers. Guess who backed up !
One of our stops was in a familiar place, Clun.
Passing through great countryside on the English/Wales border to places like Old Radnor, Kington, Knighton, Clun and Newtown.
Newtown.
Our overnight accommodation, The Dragon Hotel in Montgomery just over the border into Wales.
In the bar we watched the Euro soccer where Wales won against Russia, 2-1
We got talking to a man and his wife in the bar. It turned out that the women was the granddaughter of a lady that a young Di and her parents stayed with when holidaying in Montgomery.
