After a couple of lovely days with Mal and Ivor we are moving on. We are going up to Halesowen to pick up Ray for a long drive down to Devon.
I still can't sort out the SatNav which we have on lone from Glynn, so will be relying on my memories to reach Halesowen, than Rays directions to get to Dartmouth.
Saying a fond farewell to Mal and Ivor.
We found our way to Rays with only a few mistakes before heading south down the M5.
We had been advised to take a break at a service station, Moto Frankley, South bound. From my point of view, the first impression was very interesting as the building is covered by earth and built into a bank. The interior is very light, full of big timbers and with all the usual services including a Farm Shop.
A delightful building.
Nice photo taken by my brother-in-law.
The rear of the building.
My first sighting of electric vehicle recharging outlets.
By mid afternoon we reached, via some very narrow roads, Kingswear which is on the opposite side of the River Dart to Dartmouth. Via a small vehicle ferry and guidance from Andrew we reached Mount Boon House, the home of our niece Louise and her husband Andrew.
First impressions of Dartmouth are great. It looks a very interesting town. I've never been to Dartmouth before but it reminds me very much of similar ports in Cornwall. I'm looking forward to exploring!
Its lovely to see Louise and Andrew again and their beautiful home.
....... with this terrific view.
A room with an exceptional view!
Looking down river to the sea and Dartmouth Castle on the headland.
I'm looking forward to exploring.
