A slow and relaxed beginning to the day. I went down into town early, to take more photos of course, and pick up papers and French pastries from Saveurs. Its nice being in a town that is full of individual shops and no big chain stores.
Spotted this beautiful old Life Boat, now decommissioned and in private hands, heading for the open sea.
Having a walk towards the Castle.
Its up hill all the way.
Looking back upriver and towards the town.
Heading to top of the hill.
Parking is always at a premium.
It really is that steep.
Looking at Louise and Andrew's house from near the top of the hill.
Looking down on Kingswear.
The railway station in Kingswear.
A sailing class being towed home.
After a nice lunch, we were sitting talking when a very agitated stranger appeared in the back garden. Andrew went to see what the problem was and was told that the gentleman had got his car wedged between the stone walls. Like lots of people he had become a victim of a SatNav which didn't show how narrow the roads are in Dartmouth. Trying to turn at a 'T' junction he became wedged with a wheel off the ground. A lot of the non-local cars in the area seem to have bumps and scrapes on each corner.
