Travelling 2016 - Day 18

Thursday 16th June.

It was great to see Val and Rod again although its only been about 6 months since they were out in Sydney. We had a lot of news to catch up on last night, we just carried on from where we left last time. Had a late night but this morning we woke to a nice, sunny day but it was rather cool when we stepped outside.
We had a late breakfast before heading out to a local Welsh Woollen Mill. Unfortunately when we got there, the mill was closed due to an industrial dispute. Shame.
We carried on to the lovely seaside town of Newquay which Di and myself last visited over 50 years ago. This Newquay is not to be confused with the surfing haven of Newquay in Cornwall. Despite the passage of many years, nothing much has changed.

Unfortunately the tide was out, but by the time we left it was in again.

This is the corner hotel that Di and myself stayed in many years ago.We used to come for the weekend with various groups of friends and family. Once we stayed here with a group of friends from work and all the wives were named Diane which made for some interesting conversations.

Somewhere for lunch.

Very nice lunch with good company.

As I say, not much has changed.
Looking back at the town from the seawall, with the tide out. Compare with a photo taken from the same spot many years ago, but with tide in.

Back to Tegryn for another great dinner and lots of laughs.
