Another nice day. We were up early and Di did some washing before we set off to spend the day with friends Gill and David. We drove up the M5, M6 and headed for Whitchurch before turning off to a place called Shebdon, near the Shropshire Union Canal where Gill and David have their narrowboat, NB Endeavour. Getting under weigh, we headed north finally stopping a few hours later at the locks at Tyrley.
Some lovely craft on the cut.
Still a few working boats around. This is the Cadbury Wharf at Knighton. Milk was collected from surrounding farms and transported to Bourneville.
A really lovely stretch of canal.
NB Endeavour moored at Tyrley while we had a walk up to the Newport Road and a pub called The Four Alls. Strange name.
Tyrley locks. I cant remember what the NO sign was for, probably something to do with the EU.
Back on board for a very nice lunch cooked by Gill. Lots of talking and catching up to do.
We got back to Droitwich about 1900 and I sat outside reading for a while, just have to love these long summer evenings.
While I was reading I saw movement out of the corner of my eye and turned around to see, only about 4m from me, a fight develop between a local cat and a fox.
