Thursday 23rd May.
Had a lie in and late breakfast. One of the good things about being on holiday.
Like most of this week the weather has been sunny at times but always with a very cold wind.
We drove into Shrewsbury and parked below the town down by the river and had a leisurely walk up the hill and into the town.
The top of the town was virtually traffic free as a new gas main was being laid through the narrow streets.
This street had been fitted with artificial grass and deck chairs.
In the Square we shopped in a few of our favourite stores, Waterstones books and Fat Face.
From Shrewsbury we drove to Bridgnorth for a very nice lunch and a bit of shopping. Why do we always seem to end up in a Fat face shop? Spent a couple of happy hours hunting for books in the charity shops.
As I'm writing this I've remembered a few, to us, strange things we have noticed. There is no such thing as free parking and the parking bays are so narrow that its impossible to open a car door fully.
In Bridgnorth we came across a public toilet that had gated access and charged 20P to enter but also had a function for credit card payment! That would be an interesting item on the bank statement!!
By late afternoon we arrived in Droitwich to a big welcome from Mal and Ivor.
Lots of good conversation, food and drink then a rather late night.
