Monday 20th May.
Today we move on. Di was up very early as she miss read the time on her watch, it was actually 05:30 not 06:30. Still at least we got the early start we needed to get Jim and Johan to Manchester Airport for their return trip to Stockholm.
We had breakfast, completed our packing and loaded up the car.
We have had a very comfortable stay at our AirB&B and been well looked after by Sue, Bill and their family. We can definitely recommend this AirB&B.
We got to Manchester Airport just after 10:00 leaving the boys plenty of time for their flight. It was a sad time, saying our goodbyes and getting big hugs from Johan. Its been wonderful to spend these few days with them.
We went to see Hertz at the airport to see if we could change our hire car for a smaller one now that there was only the two of us. Originally we had been given a brand new big SUV type of vehicle called a Vauxhall Grandland in which we had done just over 600 miles. It wasn't a very comfortable car to drive or to be a passenger in, something wrong with the seat construction. Hertz were extremely busy but accommodating and finally managed to sort us out with a smaller vehicle. The new one was a Kia Ceed station wagon, a very nice comfortable car which actually had more luggage space than the first car, being a wagon.
From the airport we headed North, following our trusty phone sat/nav to our next stop which was just outside the lovely city of Harrogate. We have booked into the Chequers Inn at Bishop Thornton for a couple of nights.
