Wednesday 29th May
The view from our window wasn't as we expected. It looked very wet and gloomy.
As we watched it got worse.
This made a big change to our plans for the day. We had planned to visit Greenway but deferred it for a nicer day.
The rain was what we tend to call Scotch mist, although light it is very wetting. Despite the weather, Andrew has gone fishing so after doing a little washing we decided to walk down into town and give our hostess a break. Luckily we had brought wet weather clothing with us. Di wanted to change a jumper she had bought, she didnt like the colour, and we needed to send a few cards and look for presents to take home. Despite the weather the town was still quite busy.
I had been trying to get in contact with relatives of our next door neighbours who happen to live in Dartmouth. After putting in numerous calls to both phone numbers I had been given, I finally got a call back from the RNLI. It turns out that one of the numbers was an old one for Rob when he worked for the RNLI in his capacity as manager. Once this was all worked out we went to have afternoon tea with Rob and Lynn. We caught up with all their family news so that we could report back to our neighbours.
Andrew had a good day fishing and bought back a couple of lovely big rainbow trout which he has promised to cook in the next couple of days. Following on with the fish theme, Louise cooked her famous fish pie for dinner. Yummy !!
