The Holiday continues ....

Saturday 1st June

The mornings weather was sunny but still very cool to us.
Jane and Glynn left for work and we had a lazy morning before deciding to walk into the city.
The canal is quite close to the apartment and a nice walk along the towpath takes us to the Gas Street Basin and on to the Library and Town Hall side of the city.
Its always nice to be in this part of the city with so much going on and things to see.
We walked through the Symphoney Hall and on towards the Art Gallery.

In the square at the front of the Town Hall we came across this amazing statue.

Its a statue called The Knife Angel which is 8.5m  high and is made up of 100,000 knives that were handed in during a weapons amnesty.
The detail is fantastic and the handles have been left on the knives adding a touch of colour .

This statue in front of Town Hall was nicknamed The Floozy in the Jacoozy, but since our last visit the water feature has disappeared and the statue is surrounded by a garden. Maybe The Floozy in the Flowers would be more apt.

We had a little look around, did a bit of shopping before heading back along the canal.
