Travelling 2016 - Day 38 (afternoon)

Wednesday 6th July.  (afternoon)

Jim and I went into the city to meet John.
We had a walk to show him around the beauty of Gamla Stan.

Stortorget.

Heading across to Riddarholmen.

John and Jim studying the water.

Lots of spires.

This is what its all about.
We are walking the roof tops of a group of court buildings on Riddarholmen.

Magnificent views over the city roof tops.

Our guide.

These are the three crowns on top of City Hall and according to our guide each one is the size of a small Fiat car.

The three musketeers.

The top window of this block is the supposed hideaway of the main character of Stig Larsson's Millennium Trilogy, Lisbeth Slander.

That's where we have been!!
After our heady walk we enjoyed dinner and a few beers at Pickwick's on Drottninggaten.

Jim wanted to try this pub that he'd heard about, another excuse for a beer before heading home.

Got home in time to see the soccer match between Portugal and Wales. Portugal, dirty players, won 2-0.
