Travelling 2016 - Day 37

Tuesday 5th July

Yet another bright sunny morning with a weather forecast of 21C but a chance of rain shower.

A special day today. Our great nephew, John, has been in Copenhagen at a conference and is coming to stay with us for a few days. We are going into the city to meet him late afternoon at Central Station.

Walked into Sundbyberg, via Marabouparken, to catch the train.

Lovely Fuchsia in the park.

Not sure what was happening here but a great looking piece of machinery.

Waiting for the train.

A short time later and we are walking into Gamla Stan.

The impressive spire of Riddarholmskyrkan.

I love all the little streets that crisscross Gamla Stan.

I still find it strange that so many countries pay homage to the dragon slaying St.George.

Had a nice light lunch in Stadsmission before heading to the station. We met John and went for a beer to catch up with his latest family news. John was staying overnight on the hostel boat, af Chapman moored off Skeppsholmen.

I walked with him across the city while Di rested her feet. John was coming back to Elin and Jim's for dinner so we walked back across the city, met Di and caught the train.
Had a great dinner with lots of good food, drink, fun and laughter  The boys were fascinated by John and had a great time before he found his way back in to the city. We will be seeing him tomorrow.
