Day 16, water under the bridge.

Friday 16th December 2013

There has been a lot of water under the bridge since my last update. This lapse has been due mainly to me working for a few days. This usually happens around this time of year, holiday time, when companies and institutions can fit in inspection and maintenance work.

Last weekend, Elin, Jim and family went to stay with Becky, Graham and the cousins.  Since then they have had days out, which unfortunately, I couldn't be a part of due to work.

Today it is 41C so we are all inside taking advantage of the air-conditioning, although Elin and I went for an early morning walk before it got too hot.

The following photos have been taken over a number of days.

Every year we are visited by a family of Magpies who come around to introduce their off spring to us. Mom is on the left with one of her babies.  They are quite tame and will come up to either the front or back door to be fed.

Baby waiting for his Mom to feed him. He is yet to get his full plumage of shiny black and white. They have a lovely warbling call.

While our visitors were away, I put up some Christmas lights across the front of the house, assembled the Christmas tree and decorated it as a surprise for when Johan came home.

This is a photograph of a typical Australian Christmas summer. The Christmas tree is decorated and there is cricket on the TV.  What makes it even more enjoyable is the we are giving the Poms a thrashing.  We have already won the first three games of the five series test to reclaim the Ashes.

Henry has been practicing his computer skills.

He has also been practicing his press-ups.

We have found another use for an IKEA baby chair. Take the legs off and it makes an excellent baby bath chair.
