Holiday 2012 - Day70

A bit of cloud about this morning but Jim improved the day by cooking bacon and eggs for breakfast. Yummy!!

Elin and Johan on the public deck area at the back of their apartment.

Sometime ago I mentioned that the balcony at the rear of Elin and Jim's apartment was finished with timber flooring whereas the front balcony was finished with grey pavers.  Neighbours in the same block had replaced their pavers with timber decking and it looked great. Elin thought their rear and front balcony matching would be nice.

After discussions, Elin and Jim said that they would like to do the same so Jim and I worked out what timber we needed and made a trip to Bauhus. There was so much timber involved that Jim had to make two trips with the car and on the last trip there was lengths hanging out the back and hardly enough room left for me.

We lifted and stacked the pavers then set timber bearers into the existing sand bed.

The pavers are up and we are preparing the base timbers.

This is the extent of our tools, except for a circular saw.

Johans plastic bucket and spade came in handy !

We cut and fitted the edge surround, with nice mitre corners, and cut up the flooring pieces to loose fit over night. Murphys law struck, we were one length short !

It was a good days work but we both ended up very stiff.  I hadn't done any physical work since being on holiday and therefore suffered.
