The holiday continues ....

Had a good nights sleep at AirB&B with only a little sign of jet lag.
After breakfast we headed into nearby Droitwich to do a bit of shopping and it was nice to hear local accents and banter once again. Jim organized a phone sim card and set up a voice activated sat. nav. system. Nice to have someone with us that is used to all these modern pieces of technologies.

We had promised Johan that we would take him to see an English castle so headed for Warwick.
Warwick Castle has always been one of our favourite places, as it was for our children and now for one of our grandchildren.

Johan and Jim on the battlements.

Johan making friends with one of the resident Peacocks during our lunch break.

Despite the serious face, Johan had a great time and was really great company.

Outside the bird sanctury waiting for the raptor display.

This was one of the smallest birds on display. At one point in the show an Andean Condor flew so low that it brushed Johans hair, much to his delight, even though a little scary.

We visited the Peacock Gardens and saw many of these lovely birds. They were a hit with Johan. We also met a very knowledgeable man that looked after the Peacocks.

After a very enjoyable day at the castle we drove back into the centre of Birmingham where we had arranged to meet Jane, Glynn, Louise and Andrew at Janes apartment in Edgbaston, it was great to see them all once again. During tea, Johan entertained us with "Dad" jokes. He is a charming young man and a great hit with the family.

One thing we had forgotten but noticed all day were the number of people and the heavy traffic on the roads all traveling at a million miles an hour.

Quite late getting back to Great Witley at the end of a very enjoyable day.
