Friday 17th May
Woke up very early, jet lag again, opened the curtains and its wet outside.
Obviously it rained overnight and now its just very light rain.
A slow start to the morning with breakfast discussions on where to go as it looks like rain for most of the day. We finally decided to visit the Black Country Living Museum as we thought Johan would enjoy it.
By the time we reached Junction 3 on the M5 motorway it was raining quite heavily so we decided on a change of plan and to head away from the rain.
We drove across to Ludlow, mainly as it had a castle but also because its a nice place to visit.
We didn't actually go inside the castle as Johan had money burning a hole in his pocket that he was desperate to spend. He had been given money by both Jane and Louise and was looking for toy shops.
After a nice lunch in The Church Inn we went to visit the 12th century church of St. Laurence where Johan made friends with one of the church wardens.
Johan's friendly church warden pointed out lots of interesting feature of the church and even took us right inside the workings of the church organ.
Unfortunately, Ludlow being a historic town, didn't have any toy shops so ever on-wards. Ended up in Worcester during the afternoon rush hour so again turned and ended up near where our day began, Droitwich, where Johan managed to spend his pocket money.
It was a good place to end our days travels as we were to have dinner with Mal and Ivor on the outskirts of Droitwich. A very nice dinner and catch-up time with Mal and Ivor.
