Wild weather!

Yesterday was a real wild one in the Hawkesbury with wind gusts up to 80kms/hour.  We had a garden full of debris from the trees and bushes, enough to fill the Ute for a trip to the tip in the morning.

While cleaning up the wind blown leaves and small branches from the front of the house I noticed something amiss in the big trees either side of the drive.

The top of the tree next door had broken off and was resting in the top of the big tree on our side of the drive.  This wasn't of real concern except it was directly above the power lines to both properties.  We contacted the power company who sent out their contractors who do all the lopping.

We haven't had this much excitement in the street for some time.

I love the big boys toys!

A couple of hours later and its all done.  This photo is deceptive as it doesn't give the true size of the pile of timber on the footpath. At the bottom there are some very big offcuts.

Now all we have to do is wait for the big mulching machine to arrive which may be a couple of days as they are very busy with all the damage in the area..
