Kitchen Capers,Part 5 (electrical)

Not exactly a true title but stay with me. While we have been working on the kitchen, all the electrical work has been done by a local company, Rod West Electrical. Rod went to school with Becky, Tanya and David Ridgewell. He and his team have done a great job with the last items being a movement sensor light in the pantry and lights over the sink. Obviously when a team of blokes are working lots of things get talked about, but usually cars come into the conversation. Turns out that one of the team has a Daimler Dart, SP250, hardtop which is under restoration and Rod has the ute in the pictures. Today was the day of reckoning and I suppose he thought to soften the bill by arriving in his flash mean machine.

It is a 1950 V8 Ford Custom Single Spinner Ute. Its an Australian model and the only one in the country.

The 'spinner' refers to the disk in the centre of the grille. There a few twin spinner utes in the country but this is the only one in Australia. I saw a single spinner sedan at the NRMA motorfest in Sydney at the begining of the year.

Now we have settled our account he should be able to fill the tank with fuel.
