Keeping busy

Over the last few months I have been building an open sided shed to house the wood store. Actually it started out as a little covered area where we could sit, out of the sun, and have our morning coffee in peace and quiet while looking over the garden. That was until a house was built behind us and a family with four small children moved in! The peace and quiet very quickly disappeared and so the usage of the area changed.

The framework went up well before the house was built but as soon as we realised what was happening all work came to a standstill.

The fixed purple panels on either side are actually the doors off the shed that was on the original property behind us which belonged to our very good friends Dot and Bay Morgan.

I know that the wood heap, and its stacking, cannot compete with a Swedish wood pile but at least I'm ready for winter. This is good long burning stringy bark.

I can't remember where the stained glass window came from but it looks good against the grapefruit tree.
Alex says that it's his shed
and he has even moved in his little table, made from an upturned milk crate.

All I have to do now is to put his name across the top and put Dot and Bays names on the purple doors. A fitting memorial for two lovely people.

Everyman needs a shed!!!
