Some old, friends of long standing are out here to visit their daughter and make the acquaintance of their newest grandson. They have been very busy with 'baby duties' so we arranged to meet them in the city. We are currently going through a patch of bad weather, but we do need the rain, and we had already made arrangements to meet on a set day so the weather was not a consideration.
We caught the rivercat from Rydalmere into Circular Quay where we met up.
The sky was dark and dismal above this cruise vessel berthed at the overseas terminal.
It looked as though we would be dodging the showers all day so decided to catch another ferry and go across the harbour to Manly.
Its not often that we see the city shrouded in rain.
We had a good day out in great company, despite the rain. Not many photos taken obviously.
We did a bit of shopping, Rods always looking for a bargain, and discovered a nice Billabong shop that, with Di's help, took a lot of my money.
We found, and had a nice lunch at, the Fika Swedish Kitchen. In future we must get in early as its quite small and popular.
Having had a good day out, we parted from Val and Rod and headed for home via the Parramatta River Cat.
The one bright spot in the day were these buildings as we headed up river. They reminded me of happy days in Sweden.
