Paths and Decks.

Way back in June I mentioned that now all the sewerage pipes had been replaced all we had to do was to get the garden back to some semblance of order.  As you can imagine, having excavators in the garden did tend to churn up all the grass and of course when the trenches were back filled all the low level clay ended up on top.  Anyway, we are slowly getting there, although a long dry spell hasn't helped.

A new path being formed up which now runs from near the back door across to the shed.

Surrounding the paving stones, and in the bed on the right, we have now laid river pebbles.

Those sleepers are heavy!

Once the path was finished we decided to build a timber deck outside the kitchen and around the end of the verandah. This required the moving of lots of soil and some re-routing of rainwater pipes.

I will let the photos tell the story.

Its all looking good and the boss is happy! It will look even better when I have laid some turf to cover the rubbish soil and finish the project off nicely.

jims turn:

1) those stepping stones, they will always be the wrong distance apart. eventually one step will land in the gap.

2) you went a bit close to the big tree there.

Overall, it does look very smart, almost looks swedish. I also cant wait to just chill on the deck.

Elin, I think its farfar who needs to sleep/drink while Jim chases.

Jim, we like to make our Swedes feel at home. IKEA make good outdoor furniture.
1) it depends how big your feet are!
2) lots of mods required to miss massive root system!
